Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica) historically nested along cliffs, in caves, and in other natural situations. Nest cups may be placed under eaves on the porch or garage, or any high location protected from sun. The barn swallow builds its nest around human structures, in places like barn rafters and under the eaves of houses.

Jenna & Mark's @Swallows Nest Barn wedding was relaxed, full of laughter/mischief and topped off with one hell of an Ibiza style party. The species is also common across Europe and Asia, wintering to southern Africa and South America. They will clean out the old feathers and add new Barn Swallows once nested in caves throughout North America, but now build their nests almost exclusively on human-made structures.
